New York Day 2

The plan to blog about my trip every night eventually failed... as well as the plan to take a picture of everything yummy I've been eating, as I have been digging in as dishes touch the table. I blame it on the lack of WiFi and my instinct to fatten up before Winter.

Luckily there is plenty of images of soupy dumplings at Joe's Shanghai on Google. They were bigger, better and cheaper than anything you can find this side of the border.

Asian theme continued at night when we hit up St. Mark's - initially attempting to get in Ippudo but decided no food is worth a 2.5-hour-wait. I'm so happy that we went instead to Yakitori Taisho which was a-maaazing (*limp hand*). I just had to take a pic in the middle of fooding... bah, it looks a lot better when it doesn't look like it's being ravaged by locusts.

Not to mention great selection of sake, shochu (I guess this is the Jap attempting to make shoju their own), draft beer ($12.50 a pitcher of Sapporo). It really kicked Guu square in the nuts.

Sad to mention though, every night I went to bed at about 11PM, despite wanting to try a few bars like my first couple of NYC visits. I'd like to blame my old and fragile body but I see fellow '83ers posting party pictures of how they are "tearing it up in NYC, YOLO"... Heck. I don't even want to tear it up in Toronto now - tho I'll win any friggin' tearing up challenge if it was held at 9AM on weekends. If we do brunch after.

  1. Pfft...just like them Japs to take things and try to make it theirs. I bet they'll just rewrite the history books....again.

lol i kid, I have no hate for the japanese, it was all before my time. I just hate everyone equally...no that is a complete lie. Haha but you know whom I speak of...those people...

11pm?!?! wtf?!?! Old lady in the house! I'd make old jokes but you still get ID'd at the LCBO...wtf. They should ID based on what time you sleep and what time you wake up. You can always join those old ladies who walk the malls early int he morning for excercise. Work off all that food AND make new friends your age.

    $12.50 picthes of Sapporo?!

Since i can't tell what those sad devoured carcasses are, what did you order?
