On how the BBQ chicken disappears

I have this huge BBQ'd chicken from Loblaws that I am trying to finish on my own. There are also potato wedges and the potato egg salad... huge amount of food for a single person... what can I say, everything was only 10$!!!!!

Here's the story of how the BBQ chicken is slowly attacked and yet to be conquered.

Day 1 - Thursday Night

After I flashed my VIP badge (coupon) at the cashier, I finally got the highly sought-after BBQ chicken at about 10PM on the way home... I had to endure the amazing smell the whole bus ride and I don't even remember if I washed my hand before tearing off the drumstick and thigh for dinner. Yummy. (And I had one potato wedge. Gross - soggy and tasteless).

The other drumstick and thigh was put together with rice and asparagus for lunch.

Day 2 - Friday

Ate said drumstick and thigh for lunch - it was packed with love of me to myself from the previous night. Then I said, screw the love of me to myself, and went out for dinner the whole weekend. The chicken sat peaceful and unconquered in the frigidaire (where's my Nobel prize, you damn Norwegians?). Its cousin, the turkey, wasn't so lucky.

Day 3 - Monday Night

Made a load of fried rice with the chicken breast - my least favorite part of a chicken. So dry. Why do some people like the white meat, I will never understand. Anyhow, it's the quick and dirty fried rice with garlic, dark mushrooms, soy sauce and chicken bits. Garnish with huge-ass chicken wing on top, extra skin, and some cooked beans as veggies. Then I packed the same thing for lunch, except with the other wing because I ate the first one, durh.

Day 4 - Tuesday

That's today! Came back home and I wasn't in the mood to have some chicken again. So I had some beef tortellini tossed in garlic, olive oil, parsley, parmesan. The fridge was pretty full, which reminded me that I had a big loaf of bread and the potato egg salad that I haven't even touched yet. I tasted the potato egg salad and tried to recall when potato salads were supposed to be crunchy. Anyhow, after the considering the stage of life a potato should be in when I eat it, I microwaved and mashed the crap out of it, tore some chicken breast into tiny bits and mixed it in. Tadam - Chicken salad. I pre-buttered some bread so I can make use of the valuable company toaster tomorrow for lunch and spread some chicken salad on top...

Day 5 - Tomorrow

I am seriously running out of idea... and I still have half of the chicken's white meat left. I know what to do with the carcass -- I'm stuffing it with garlic and making chicken soup... but the white meat... uuuugh. Maybe I can try to choke some seagulls with the dryness.

  1. make a fajita party with enough guacamole and salsa, you won't taste the dryness

  2. Steam it with rice cooker uncovered and it will be moist again. (the dish that holds the chicken is uncovered but the rice cooker should be covered)

  3. More to that dry chicken now I am relaxed: thread it and then cut to small sizes, get a can of cream corn and add some water, bring to boil, add threaded chicken and beaten egg drops. A peice of chedder cheese if you want, voila - 雞茸玉米濃湯.
