I believe one of the worst feelings ever is to wake up not remembering last night, and convinced that it was a great night. Then slowly it comes back and embarrassing bits and pieces start jabbing you in the brain and chipping away your dignity - all in the name of good fun.
Also can't taste anything today, made a huge omelette and couldn't even taste it :(((((

So I had a wonderful meal at Madeline's, Susur Lee's new restaurant. I just stumbled into it literally. Getting into the restaurant next door first to look at the menu ("LEE", and I was having some suspicions at that point, not having connected the dots quite yet) and decided to go to Madeline's because they're having this one-year anniversary special. It was easily one of the tastiest meals I've ever had....

I had a celebration platter that's not on the regular menu because it was their one year anniversary, there's a selection of small appetizers.
- shucked oyster with chili and lemon - amazing, fresh, it's easy to love oysters
- shrimp on a stick with a mussel at the tip and this sauce, this one was o-kay
- huge scallop, seared and sliced, with slightly spicy ponzu, roasted almond and crispy bits - sooooo good
- crab cake, the "sauce" was finely ground egg salad mixed with cucumber like tzatziki
- bruschetta with prosciutto and mushroom and truffle oil
- fried green beans, the batter has mustard seed and spicy mayo this is good, it sounds so plain, but the mustard seed batter is amazing
- chorizo slice skewered with glazed yam and unidentiable sauce for me - spicy and sweet, very interesting...
- fried chicken ball, goat cheese and olive - the chicken ball had been stuffed with a black olive in the middle, goat cheese is fried in a ball
main course
- lamb chop - with mint chutney, peppercorn, smoked bacon...
- steaks - with hazelnuts, thin thin celery stripes, red wine reduction, tiny tiny shallots allllll over
when will you learn that the best combo for hangoverness is gatorade AND rockstar.. together
